Candle Care 101
Every candle is an experience.
Here are some tried-and-true tips to make sure you get the most out of yours for a burn that is clean, safe, and long-lasting.
Safety First
Burn within sight- never leave your candle unattended. Keep away from fans, drafts, things that can catch fire, children & pets. Always burn on a heat safe surface and avoid moving your candle when it is lit or still hot.
🔥 Burn, Baby, Burn
The first burn sets the tone and creates the burn pattern for the candle. Make sure the melt pool (liquified wax on top of the candle) reaches close to the edges of the jar on the first burn. This helps prevent tunneling and ensures a full even burn and melt pool every time. This could take anywhere from 2-4 hours. Do not exceed 4 hours of burn time.
✂️ Trim Your Wicks
Make sure to trim your wick to 1/4” using a wick trimmer or sharp scissors. This helps prevent excessive smoke or soot, uneven burning and dangerous, high flames. If you ever notice high flames or soot/smoke coming from your candle, put it out, trim the wick and re-light.
